Girls Write Now reached out to Social Impact looking for a performance at their annual Agent of Change event in New York City. After some discussion Danielle Ponder became the obvious choice, not only for a performance but to be honored at the ceremony as a thought leader who believes in the power of story telling. She was honored alongside Ayesha Curry, Sheinelle Jones, Jane Lauder, and Madeline McIntosh. Past recipients include Cicely Tyson, Gloria Steinem, Zadie Smith, Ayesha Curry, Roxane Gay and more.
Danielle was absolutely thrilled and was a huge hit at the event held at DVF studios to a crowd of community leaders, industry heads, publishers and Girls Write Now mentees. In particular, the VP, Editorial Director of the prestigious Amistad imprint at HarperCollins, Abby West was so impressed, she reached out to discuss a potential publishing opportunity with Danielle directly following the event.
