In 2019, Abu Dhabi made history by hosting the first-ever Special Olympics World Games in the Middle East and North Africa—a landmark moment for inclusion in the region. Wasserman Live was embedded within the Local Organizing Committee from the outset, defining the full scope of branding and signage. Our brief was to deliver a seamless and empowering experience for athletes, families, and spectators—across every stage of the guest journey.

As an integral part of the planning team, we shaped the end-to-end delivery strategy—from scoping and creative to production and installation. Our work spanned more than 30 venues and key transit points, covering airport welcome desks, hotel branding, transport hubs, training grounds, competition arenas, and fan zones. Every space was considered, accessible, and designed to celebrate the spirit of the Games. The result was a unified look and feel that championed inclusion, pride and cultural connection at every step.

The Games welcomed over 7,500 athletes from more than 190 nations and marked a bold step forward in the region’s commitment to people of determination. Our work helped create an environment where every guest—from world leaders to first-time visitors—felt part of something extraordinary. It was more than a sporting event; it was a celebration of unity, dignity, and human achievement—and we were proud to bring it to life.
