We worked with the Xfinity team and targeted HBCU communities to create a truly immersive experience by framing Xfinity’s various initiatives within the community. The experience quite literally allowed students to walk into Xfinity’s Black Experience – to explore and be hands-on – from content to storytelling to a custom-made mural to, of course, the Xfinity products and services that optimize their experience.
The custom murals for each campus experience were created by Elijah Rutland (FAMU alumnus) and highlighted unique features of the community, capturing the essence of each campus’ culture. Students were invited to “Leave Their Mark” by signing, doodling, and adding to the mural, creating a one-of-a-kind art piece that represented them.
To ensure maximum attendance and event awareness, we hired and trained two Student Brand Ambassadors at each tour stop to help promote the event before the arrival on campus. Tapping into the heartbeat of student life, ambassadors hit up their friends, spoke to their classes and posted on social media to ignite the excitement for the HBCU Halls tour experience.
