Anna von Hausswolff is a Gothenburg-born singer, pianist, organist, and composer known for her innovative work at the intersection of tradition and experimentation. With the organ and her voice as her primary instruments, she creates captivating soundscapes that have earned her international acclaim.

Her breakthrough album Ceremony (2012) and subsequent releases like Dead Magic (2018) and All Thoughts Fly (2020) showcase her ability to push musical boundaries. In August 2024, she premiered Atlas Song, a collaboration with choreographers Imre and Marne van Opstal, blending dance and live music in a groundbreaking performance. The music from Atlas Song will be released as an album in 2025.

Throughout her career, Anna has collaborated with renowned artists such as Wolves in the Throne Room, Swans, Sunn O))), and Yann Tiersen. She has also been nominated for a Guldbagge Award and composed music for films, theater, and prestigious events like the Nobel Banquet.

Anna von Hausswolff was born in Gothenburg and is a singer, pianist, organist, and composer. She is an acclaimed international artist working at the intersection of tradition and experimentation. With the organ and her voice as her primary instruments, she explores the depths of various genres and media, captivating audiences worldwide with her unique soundscapes.

Her international breakthrough came with the album Ceremony in 2012, and since then, she has continued to push musical boundaries and create groundbreaking works. Her debut album, Singing from the Grave (2010), paved the way for several critically acclaimed releases, including her fourth album, Dead Magic (2018), produced by Sunn O))) producer Randall Dunn. The music on this album was centered around the early 20th-century organ in the Marble Church in Copenhagen, where much of the album was recorded. She followed this with All Thoughts Fly, her fifth album, recorded on the organ at Örgryte New Church in Gothenburg.

In August 2024, Anna von Hausswolff premiered Atlas Song, a groundbreaking collaboration with internationally renowned choreographers Imre and Marne van Opstal. This innovative, poetic, and sensual performance of dance and live music inaugurated both the Gothenburg Dance and Theatre Festival and the opening of the dance season at GöteborgsOperan, as they each celebrated their 30-year anniversary seasons. The music from Atlas Song will be released as an album in 2025.

Throughout her career, von Hausswolff has collaborated with some of the most prominent artists in the music world, including Wolves in the Throne Room, Swans, Sunn O))), and Yann Tiersen, demonstrating her versatility and ability to transcend musical boundaries.

In 2022, she was nominated for a Guldbagge Award for Best Original Score alongside Filip Leyman for their work on the film The Most Beautiful Boy in the World (directed by Kristina Lindström and Kristian Petri, 2021). That same year, the film Paris Revoir premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the prestigious Director's Fortnight category, with a score composed by von Hausswolff. In 2022, she also composed the music for the Royal Dramatic Theatre's production of Maxim Gorky's The Lower Depths.

Additionally, Anna von Hausswolff has engaged in numerous collaborations, including serving as the solo vocalist in the ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream at both the Royal Swedish Opera and The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago, performing with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra at the Gothenburg Concert Hall, and appearing with the choir Chards at the Barbican Concert Hall in London. In 2018, von Hausswolff, together with Mikael Karlsson, composed the music for the Nobel Banquet.
