With Coltrane 100: Legacy, the compositions of John Coltrane are given a new treatment. With the larger format of a symphony orchestra playing new arrangements specifically written for this setting — by Grammy-nominated composer, curator, and activist Carlos Simon — audiences will hear Coltrane's most enduring work expanded and reimagined.
Each show features a 47-piece (minimum) orchestra, a featured soloist, a 3-piece jazz rhythm section and archival photos and footage provided by the John Coltrane Estate.
