Vienna Vienna is always waiting for his next chance to take the stage, to electrify an audience with his signature Glimmer Rock sound. For J, the multi-instrumentalist behind the project, performance is catharsis, connection, and release. His debut EP Wonderland – released in October 2024 via PULSE Records and Pete Wentz's DCD2 – introduced a world shaped by queerness, self-acceptance, and emotional release, establishing him as a rising voice within the alternative landscape.
In early 2025, he broke out with the viral single "God Save The Queens," a defiant celebration of queer identity that amassed over one million streams and sparked a wave of fan support. Its neon-lit video, featuring RuPaul's Drag Race star Salina Es Titties, became an instant rallying point for the LGBTQIA+ community, and a portion of proceeds from his limited-run merch supported the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
Onstage, Vienna Vienna is electric. His performances radiate emotional intensity, queer joy, and a magnetic unpredictability that feels both intimate and explosive. He captivated audiences on his support runs with K.Flay and Valley, and dazzled at headline shows across California, transforming every room into a space of communal release. As his fanbase continues to grow, so does the world he's building – one where strangeness is celebrated, connection is central, and the live show is the beating heart of it all.
Now entering his new era with the Entertain Me EP, Vienna Vienna leans into groove-driven production and sharp, self-aware songwriting. Singles like "Idle Hands" and "Company Hunting" showcase his blend of 80s pop energy, modern indie rock, and introspective lyricism, including collaborations with hit songwriter Justin Tranter. Confident, cathartic, and a little bit chaotic, Vienna Vienna continues to build a world where strangeness is celebrated and community comes first.

FULL BIO
Vienna Vienna is always waiting for his next chance to take the stage, to electrify an audience with his signature Glimmer Rock sound. For J, the multi-instrumentalist behind the project, performance is catharsis, connection, and release. He describes being onstage as "a chance at vulnerability without all the pressure, because there's the expectation that I'm going to be vulnerable. In fact, I hope that I'm going to be vulnerable." In every room, he aims to build a space of shared joy and relief where fans can dance, laugh, and let go of whatever they carried in with them.
That search for community has shaped his artistry from the beginning. Growing up deeply at odds with his queerness, J learned early on to channel his inner conflict into creativity. His 2024 debut EP Wonderland chronicled that transformation from fear and repression to freedom and self-acceptance. It captured the emotional in-between: life before and after coming out, and the realization that what you try hardest to hide is often what shines through the brightest.
Music has always been the language that made sense. As a kid, he would walk into restaurants with a guitar and offer to play for free, chasing the spark he first felt onstage at age five. "I've always been maybe a little more reserved and a little more nervous in regular interaction," he says. "But being on stage, I can be anything."
That same instinctive magnetism runs through his partnership with PULSE Records and Pete Wentz's DCD2, who co-released Wonderland and continue to collaborate closely. "Pete and PULSE, they just get it," J says. "Strangeness is celebrated here, which is all I've ever asked for."
In January 2025, Vienna Vienna released the standalone single "God Save The Queens," a defiant celebration of queerness that quickly captured global attention. The track cuts through societal expectations and the constraints placed on the LGBTQIA+ community, amassing more than one million streams and cementing itself as an anthem of rebellion. Powered by the roaring chorus "God Save the Queens, And all the in-betweens," it became a rallying cry for the marginalized. The neon-lit music video, featuring RuPaul's Drag Race star Salina Es Titties, bursts with chaotic joy, unapologetic freedom, and unfiltered self-expression. On February 14, he released a gritty live version at fans' request, and his limited-edition "God Save the F★GS" shirts sold out, with a portion of proceeds donated to the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
Onstage, Vienna Vienna is electric. His performances radiate emotional intensity, queer joy, and a magnetic unpredictability that feels both intimate and explosive. He captivated audiences while supporting K.Flay on tour and dazzled at his own headline shows across California, transforming every room into a space of communal release. As his fanbase multiplies, so does the universe he's building — one where strangeness is celebrated, connection is the point, and the live show remains the beating heart of it all.
With his next chapter Entertain Me, Vienna Vienna leans further into groove, rhythm, and movement. "Sonically, I'm pulling my attention more towards the rhythm section," he says. "A good house needs a good foundation." He describes the EP as a tour through the distractions of modern life, from the internet to vice to the noise we create for ourselves, and a journey back into authenticity. "What's the best way to get back into your own skin? Dance. I just really wanted to dance again."
This new era expands through its first singles. "Idle Hands" blends upbeat 80s pop with modern indie rock, pulsing with playful synths, heartbeat drums, distorted guitars, and infectious hand claps. Its vibrant, chaotic groove underscores the hook "My idle hands keep me occupied all the time, I failed to launch like the rocket man in my mind." "Company Hunting," a shimmering, 1975-esque track co-written with hitmaker Justin Tranter, showcases Vienna Vienna's ability to turn deeply personal reflection into bold, hook-driven statements, a strength that continues to define this era.
Thematically, Entertain Me dives deeper into familiar terrain such as love, grief, and home, but through a more confident and grounded lens. "Since releasing Wonderland, I've become much more comfortable in my own skin," J says. "I know who I am now, and I wanted that to shine through in these records. I think I'm still exactly who I was, just a little groovier now."
Wherever Vienna Vienna heads next, the mission remains the same: creating connection through vulnerability, rhythm, and release. "I've learned so much by making these," he says. "I'm not totally sure what comes next, but I'll always be true to why I started this project. I needed release, a voice, and a reason to perform."
