Wasserman strengthens its existing presence in Australia with a new HQ, partnership with AO Matters conference during the Australian Open and new regional leadership
January 15, 2026Melbourne and Sydney (Thursday 15 January 2025)– Global sports, music, and entertainment company Wasserman continues its expansion in Australia with a new headquarters in Sydney. The company is also partnering with the AO Matters Conference and strengthening its leadership team and services in the region.
Wasserman’s new headquarters in the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, will bring together its brands, talent representation, and live events capabilities in one integrated hub. This will provide clients with faster access, enhanced collaboration, and close proximity to Australia’s leading sport and entertainment institutions.
This announcement follows Wasserman’s partnership with Tennis Australia for the AO Matters Conference, where The Collective, Wasserman’s women-focused impact and advisory business, will deliver leading insights on fandom and the commercial potential of women’s sports. In addition, The Collective will debut its global “The Collective Connect” series in Melbourne, convening industry leaders to collaborate on advancing women’s sports in the region and beyond.
Wasserman has operated in Australia since 2006, working with leading clients such as American Express, AIA, the NRL, Football Australia, Hyrox and Rugby Australia. The company also represents an enviable roster of Australian talent, including music artists Sia and Dom Dolla, and sports stars Jason Day, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Josh Phillipe, Cameron Smith, and Reece Walsh, who recently won the Clive Churchill Medal for his performance in the NRL Grand Final.
This investment broadens Wasserman’s comprehensive service offering in Australia, where the company has played a key role in recent major sporting events. Wasserman managed the commercial programme for the 2025 British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia and will be working on behalf of 10+ sponsors during the Australian Grand Prix in March.
To support this growth, Wasserman has appointed Nick Hudson as Vice President to expand its local leadership team. Hudson, a Hobart native, brings a decade of global expertise in sports and entertainment marketing to the nation’s sporting capital, returning to Melbourne after an eight-year tenure in Wasserman’s New York office. While in the USA, Hudson spearheaded high-profile partnerships for world-class brands, including Microsoft, American Express, Samsung, the NFL, the NHL, and City Football Group.
Elizabeth Lindsey, President, Brands & Properties, said, “It is a pivotal era for sports, music and entertainment in Australia, and I’m proud that Wasserman continues its history of leading from the centre in times of transformation and growth. We are thrilled to commit to the market with our new headquarters, and to continue to support our clients and partners across the region through our support of iconic events like AO Matters and by ensuring the strongest possible leadership on the ground in this critical market.”
Hudson said, “What an incredible opportunity it is to return home during such an exciting period for Wasserman in Australia. As the country enters a significant decade for sport and entertainment, I believe we are poised for sustained growth.”
