Joe Ross is a native of Berkeley, California, and pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He committed to attend the University of California, Los Angeles, out of high school but ended up signing with the San Diego Padres in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft. Ross was traded to the Washington Nationals in 2014, making his debut as a starting pitcher on June 6, 2015. In only his third appearance on plate, Ross impressively struck out 11 batters and ended the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 8-game winning streak.

In 2019, Ross started game 5 of the World Series for the Nationals, earning him a World Series ring after the Nationals defeated the Astros in game 7. After suffering a partial tear in his right elbow, Ross underwent Tommy John surgery, putting an end to his 2022 season. In January 2023, Ross signed a contract with the San Francisco Giants, exhibiting his resilience and determination to get back to the sport he loves. Off the field, Joe loves spending time with his friends and family at home in Oakland and giving back to the community.
