Mariluz Cook is the Sideline Reporter and Host for the San Diego Padres on the Padres’ TV Network. Previously, she was a sideline reporter for Athletes Unlimited Basketball and was sports anchor and reporter for KSL 5 TV in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was also the in-arena host for the Utah Jazz and Utah Grizzlies, and the Spanish PA Announcer for the Salt Lake Bees. Before that, she was the Director of Broadcast & Digital Media for the Big Sky Conference, where she was the primary on-camera talent and digital media producer.
The South Florida native is a proud Magna Cum Laude Communications and Criminal Justice graduate from Florida Atlantic University. While a student, Cook served as the primary on-camera correspondent for the university’s athletics department and won the Owl TV Reporter of the Year Award for coverage of the FAU Baseball program through the original show she hosted and produced, Pitching You My Best.
Aside from her career in sports multimedia journalism, Cook loves boxing, cycling, and running. Since 2016, she has also held five titles in the Miss America Organization, including serving as the longest reigning Miss Miami in history. Most recently, she was named Miss Salt Lake USA and competed to represent the state of Utah in the Miss USA pageant. Her years of service have been dedicated to opening up conversations about mental health in her community.
