Nate Robinson is a former NBA fan favorite and only player to win the NBA Dunk Contest three times. He played for a number of teams throughout his 11-year career, most notably with the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls.
The Seattle, Washington, native attended the University of Washington, where he played football and basketball. After his junior year, Robinson was selected 21st overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2005 NBA Draft. The 5’9″ point guard was later traded on draft night to the New York Knicks, where he began his NBA career and instantly endeared himself to the New York fanbase.
In 2014, Nate released his first book, Heart Over Height, discussing how he beat the odds making the NBA while only being 5’9”.
He has been a familiar face in the media world since retiring from the NBA. He hosted a Players’ Tribune original show called House Guest, appeared on various Turner Sports broadcasts, hosted a podcast called Holdat, and starred in the feature film Uncle Drew.
In 2022, Robinson finally shared publicly that he has been battling kidney disease for almost a decade. He continues to receive treatments until a potential match for a donor is found.
Robinson resides in Seattle, Washington.
