Taylor Ward is a third baseman and outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels. Born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in central Florida, Ward later moved to Indio, California, and attended Shadow Hills High School. He was originally a catcher and played for the Bulldogs at Fresno State until he got drafted by the Angels in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft. Ward was promoted to the Angels’ primary right fielder in 2022, having a spectacular breakout season, hitting 23 home runs, and leading the team in batting average and on base percentage.
Ward made the shift to right field for the 2023 season, but unfortunately suffered a season-ending injury in a game on July 28. Taylor’s determination, resilience, and passion for baseball will help him through his recovery process and eventually get back to playing the sport he loves.
