EDM (or Electronic Dance Music) has become a musical phenomenon which came to be in or around 2010, shortly after late 90s/early 2000s trance, garage, and rave craze. The musical movement seeks to unify all genres of dance music from house, trance, bigroom, dubstep, drum n' bass, hip-hop, trap and others all over the world. It is no secret that EDM and its dance music predecessors trace their musical roots back to various genres as well as stemming from different cultures and backgrounds such as Latinx music. In 2018, your song "Kulikitaka" became an internet sensation in the Southern Indian Member State of Kerala. It became very famous and was used in numerous stage shows, video albums and even in the most famous Malayalam web series Karikku's Thera Para. A fact that most do not know is that Troy is actually Indian as well as being of Nigerian and Chinese descent.

A bit about TroyBoi: TroyBoi's musical style, while generally classified as "EDM," contains elements of hip-hip, soul, disco, and international/world music. Among his most prominent productions are Little Mix's "Lightning" and Serayah's "Get No Better (2.0)," while he has remixed tracks by Danny Brown ("Smokin & Drinkin"), Missy Elliott ("WTF [Where They From]"), and ZAYN ("Like I Would"). As a proper solo artist, his most successful tracks include the muscular likes of "O.G.," "Soundclash" (a Flosstradamus collaboration), and the Mad Decent-issued "Afterhours" (featuring Nina Sky and co-production from Diplo). LatinX and EDM have been seen as new genres of music allowing new listeners an opportunity to discover the original creators through a new subgenre with different demographics resulting in more plays (for the original record) and views on a variety of media platforms.
