MoreA South London native, Raf Saperra's soul is a rich cultural amalgamation. The resulting music is a fresh blend of the Punjabi folk music he was bred on and the rap that moved the South London streets he grew up on.
Originally making his artistic debut as a filmmaker, Saperra found his storytelling talents taking him to the ranks of Punjabi rap legend Sidhu Moosewala, for whom he directed two music videos.
His acclaim as a singer officially launched when his song Nach Le Soniye made it's debut by way of British DJ, Yung Singh at Glastonbury 2022. His knack for storytelling carried over to the release of his debut mixtape, Rough Around The Edges, in 2023. The album was met with international acclaim, earning him a spot on Audiomack's 50 Best Albums of the Year list, a sold-out UK and North America tour, an iconic Boiler Room set in South Hall, an On The Radar freestyle, and ultimately a deal inked with hip hop legend Nas' label "MASS APPEAL."
Raf continues to build his blended world of traditional and new with recognition from South Asian staples like Panjabi MC, Sukshinder Shinda, and Naseebo Lal as well as rappers like Giggs, Dave East, and Conway the Machine. His newly released EP "5 Deadly Venomz" features the latter few, a first for the Punjabi music genre.
With upcoming music, tour dates, and visuals, Raf Saperra's latent potential continues to be unleashed, as he blends worlds and inspires fans from across cultural borders.
