FULL BIO
Prolific is an understatement.
Skream's drive and enthusiasm are akin to that of an artist who is only just getting started despite the fact that he has experienced more in the last 20 years than most people do in a lifetime. A seasoned and prolific artist who is constantly driving towards the future. Never slowing down, always full of creative energy – whether it's cooking up freshness in the studio or shelling down another party – Skream's love for music runs deep into his core and he lives it every single day.
His history is well documented; a love affair with music that was triggered by his older brother, Hijak. DJing since he was 11. Making music at 15 and one of the key innovators at the birth of dubstep. Achieving cult status with 'Midnight Request Line' and his essential self-titled debut album. All before he'd even hit his twenties. Never one to stay still and stagnate, he opted to make the transition to disco, house and techno at the height of his success.
Young, fresh producers form a key aspect of Skream's constant drive to make and create music. 2025 has been marked by collabs with 24-year-old Scottish producer Alex Culross; as well as dropping the summer anthem "Lost Without You"on Circoloco Records with Fletch and a series of releases on his Of Unsound Mind label that all feature emerging acts from around the world. Skream's penchant for connecting with younger artists demonstrates his desire to seek out new energy and keep things vibrant. He buzzes off getting a demo from an unknown producer and messaging them to ask if they want to do a tune together. "It blows their minds," he says. "I love that f****** fresh energy." There's no room for stagnation, as he keeps an open mind and explores the boundless possibilities at his disposal.
This is also evident in his innate ability to jump into a back to back with virtually anyone out there and keep it flowing naturally. From Seth Troxler, Dom Dolla to Oblig or Dennis Ferrer to Mala and his original sparring partner, Benga, Skream's ability to adapt to styles and his DJ counterparts is effortless, thanks to his depth of knowledge. Partnering up with his longtime friend and DJ extraordinaire, Jackmaster, was always a treat – from their seemingly endless back-to-back marathons, to the now-legendary four-way link up with Seth Troxler and Eats Everything as "J.E.S.u.S.." Whether it's an old school garage set, a voyage through disco or a deeper excursion into the realms of techno, it all just makes perfect sense in line with Skream's history, knowledge and capabilities.
On a solo flex, his hunger for new music means the majority of his sets are full of upfront productions – often unreleased music from younger producers and from his own unreleased catalogue (of over 500 tracks). Skream doesn't use the term "back in the day.".. While he can easily throw down a myriad of bangers from years gone by, he is forever facing forward and ensuring his DJ sets are the best they can be without relying on classics. He has an aversion to mediocrity, which has made him a firm favourite all over the world. When you go to a Skream show, you'll witness someone who gives 100% every time, enjoying himself just as much as the ravers on the dancefloor.
It's the same with his productions, featured on his own IFeel label and Circoloco Records among others. Cuts like 'The Attention Deficit Track' (with the late, great Jackmaster), as well as 'Pound Town' with Partiboi69 and 'Imali Yami' with Mxshi Mo showcasing his diversity and versatility. One of the catalysts behind Skream's shifts and changes is the desire to simply keep enjoying himself. Rather than get stuck in one "scene" and languish there, he seeks out variety, takes risks and thrives when he's expressing his love for music through assorted avenues.
"There was never any other option," he says, emphatically, and that is why Skream will continue to be one of the UK's most treasured electronic music artists keeping the legacy of UK rave culture alive until the very end…
