Annie Kunz is an American track and field Olympian who specializes in heptathlon.

After she qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials and finished 8th, she moved to San Diego, California, to become a resident at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista and train full time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Since then, she made the 2019 World Championship team placing 13th overall, was the 2019 Pan American silver medalist, 2020 US Indoor champion (8th best score all time) and won the 2020 US Olympic Trials, posting the 5th best score all time. She also holds the American shot put record in the heptathlon and is the current world leader in score (6703) for the women’s heptathlon. At her first Olympics, Annie placed 6th overall in the heptathlon in Tokyo and was the top American.

Annie was born and raised in Golden, Colorado, and attended Wheat Ridge High School where she was a three-sport athlete (soccer, track & volleyball). She was a 12x Colorado State Medalist (8 gold, 4 silver) and 2x state soccer champion (finished 2nd her senior year) while graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She was a 6x All-American, the Freddy Steinmark Award winner in 2011 (lifetime athlete/scholar/community service award), a 2x Gatorade Player of the Year in soccer and part of the Colorado Hall of Fame. She was recognized as a 4x Colorado Female Athlete of the Year and ranked #3 Colorado Athlete of the Decade behind Missy Franklin and Christian McCaffrey. She holds the Colorado all-time record for individual goals scored and was one of four athletes to be on the All-American + Scholar All-American high school team.

Annie attended Texas A&M on a full-ride (soccer & track) as a broadcast journalism major (3.85 GPA) where she was an All-American + All-SEC in track and All-SEC + Scholar All-American in soccer, and a sports reporter for TexAgs.
