Julie Ertz is a 2x World Champion soccer player who retired from the United States Women’s National Team and Angel City Football Club on September 21, 2023. Julie is a devoted wife and mother who is passionate about wellness, philanthropy, motherhood and helping women find purpose in each stage of their life. She is married to Super Bowl Champion Zach Ertz, and they have one son, Madden.

Originally from Mesa, Arizona, Julie played collegiately at Santa Clara University and was first called up to play for the USWNT in January of 2013. In 2014, she was the third overall pick in the NWSL Draft to the Chicago Reds Stars and was named the NWSL Rookie of the Year for that season. Julie was named the USWNT Player of the Year twice (2017, 2019). Additionally, she won an ESPY in 2021 for Best NWSL Player. Julie has participated in two Olympics and three World Cups, becoming a World Cup Champion first in 2015 and again in 2019, and earning a bronze medal in the 2020 Olympics. She was named one of the best eleven players in the world after the 2019 World Cup.

Along with her husband, Julie runs their foundation, the Ertz Family Foundation, which aims to empower others by sharing faith, learning through sports, and advancing education. Through the foundation, they are opening the House of Hope in Philadelphia, which will serve as a safe haven for the youth of Philadelphia.

Julie always knew motherhood would be her ultimate job title and is now excited to transition into her next chapter after an incredible soccer career. She is already finding so much joy in navigating motherhood and is excited about inspiring other women to do the same. She hopes to encourage all people to work hard toward their dreams while also embracing change and transition as it comes.
