Romain Grosjean is a Swiss-French racing driver competing in the NTT IndyCar Series for Andretti Autosport. Grosjean had previously spent nine full-time seasons in Formula One for a variety of teams, picking up 10 podiums, all with Lotus.

Grosjean dominated the 2005 French Formula Renault championship at his first attempt and joined the Renault young driver program. He was the 2007 Formula 3 Euro Series drivers’ champion. In 2008, he became the inaugural GP2 Asia Series champion and came fourth in his first year in GP2 all while working a job in accounting to pay for his driving expenses. One year later, he made his Formula One debut for Renault at the European Grand Prix and came fourth again in GP2 despite missing the final eight races. After being dropped by Renault, he returned to junior Formula E, winning the 2010 Auto GP championship at the first attempt and winning the 2011 GP2 Asia Series and GP2 Series becoming the first – and, as of 2021, only – two-time GP2 Asia champion and the only driver to hold both the GP2 Asia series and main GP2 series titles simultaneously.

On November 29, 2020, Grosjean suffered one of the most terrifying accidents of the decade in Formula One. The incident was shown on Netflix’s docudrama Formula 1: Drive To Survive, and Romain was immediately embraced by millions worldwide and became a household name. While his wife, Marion, watched helplessly as the drama unfolded thousands of kilometers away, the trapped Grosjean fought alone to save his life. The road ahead after that brush with death would not be an easy one, but giving up was never in Grosjean’s vocabulary. In his autobiography Facing Death, Grosjean looks back at his accident and his career to keep his place among the twenty best drivers in the world, and much more. Through it all, Grosjean learned that looking death in the eye changes one’s view of the world. By returning to competition despite the aftereffects, he became a symbol of resilience and courage and to this day is one of the most admired F1 drivers to ever compete.

Romain, his wife and three children now permanently live in Miami, Florida. Beyond his accomplishments in racing, Romain is an ambassador for the World Health Organization, a serial entrepreneur, a professionally trained chef, broadcaster, and philanthropist in his local communities. From forging his own path in the world’s most competitive sport to getting a second chance at life to becoming a symbol for courage, Romain’s journey races forward.
